As of Term 1, 2012, Deane's Transit Group has rearranged all Transborder buses servicing schools out of the Hall Intechange. For a complete list of the new buses to and from each school, please click here. Additionally, some morning buses picking up in and around Murrumbateman and Yass have been ammended to deal with loading issues, as below. No changes have been made to the residential side of our afternoon Transborder runs.
The Penguin morning run now follows a completely different route as of Term 1, 2012. Students who previously caught the Penguin AM bus will now need to look out for Koala AM bus. The new Penguin AM bus will now service the Barton Hwy at the following stops:
The Kangaroo bus will now begin picking up at Davis Ct/Dundoos Dr at 7:25 am before continuing on its usual run. The Barton Hwy stops that the Kangaroo previously serviced are now serviced by the new Penguin AM.
All stops that were previously serviced by the Penguin AM are now serviced by the Koala. The old Koala pick ups for Barton Hwy truck stop, "Adastra" and McIntosh Cct are now serviced by the Bilby.
The Bilby AM will continue to service its usual stops around Murrumbateman Village, but will no longer service Davis Ct/Dundoos Dr. This will now be serviced by the Kangaroo bus at the usual time. The Bilby is now also picking up all of the stops on McIntosh Cct which it used to share with the Koala.
Additionally, the Bilby will now pick up at the Adastra truck stop (approx. 100m south of Casuarina Ln) to connect with the Wallaby bus for Yass schools, which was previously serviced by the Koala bus. The Barton Hwy stops that the Bilby previously serviced are now serviced by the new Penguin AM.
The Emu will pick up as usual with the exception of "Adastra" students going to Hall, which are now picked up by the Penguin.
No changes have been made to the residential side of Wombat AM, Platypus AM, Echidna AM, Wallaby AM or any changes to the Cockatoo bus.
Deane's Transit Group has also created two new morning bus runs out of the Hall interchange to cater for the increasing number of students we have on our Transborder buses. These new buses are named the Crocodile and Dingo which will be taking some of the pressure off previous buses sharing our most populated schools.
Further to the general bus swapping, Deane's Transit Group will now be servicing four new schools with our Transborder buses. These will be serviced via our Hall Interchange as follows:
| Turner Primary: | Wombat AM & Wombat PM |
| Canberra Montessori: | Penguin AM & Penguin PM |
| Kingsford Smith School: | Echidna AM & Echidna PM |
| Campbell PS: | Kangaroo AM & Kangaroo PM |
To help with the increasing number of students coming out of Bungendore, Deane's Transit Group has now extended the morning run of bus 44 which previously began at Weetalabah Estate. This now begins picking up in Bungendore, servicing the top half from Elmslea Dr up to and including Butmaroo St, before continuing on to its regular pick ups from Weetalabah Estate. As a result, bus 20 which previously serviced all of Bungendore will now begin picking up at the corner of Butmaroo St and Gibraltar St where bus 44 left off. These will both arrive at the interchange in time for all 8:10 am connections.
Further to the changes to Bungendore morning buses are two new services direct from certain schools to Bungendore. To cater for the large number of Campbell High students living in Bungendore, Deane's Transit Group have created a direct service called bus 72. This will pick up all around Bungendore in the morning where bus 49 previously picked up, at five minutes later than the previous pick up times. This bus is for Campbell High students only and will not go through the Queanbeyan Interchange. Likewise, bus 72 will pick up at Campbell High in the afternoon and go directly back to Bungendore.
Additionally, bus 55 PM which previously picked up at Campbell High and Ainslie Primary will no longer service these schools for the Queanbeyan Interchange. Bus 55 in the afternoon will now pick up at Rosary Primary, Emmaus Christian School, Dickson College and Daramalan College. This will now be a direct service to Bungendore for Bungendore residents only. It will not pass through the Queanbeyan interchange.
No Queanbeyan students are permitted on buses 72 PM or 55 PM as they will end up far from home. Any Bungendore residents who wish to catch an existing bus that goes through the Queanbeyan Interchange to make appointments in town, stay with family or friends or to catch the bus that their friends are on still permitted to do so, but will not be covered by their free travel pass. If any student who has a direct service chooses to go via the Queanbeyan Interchange will be required to pay the appropriate fare.
